Men’s 1st Team Power Past Southampton (69–51)

The Men’s 1st Team delivered a uncharacteristic performance to defeat Southampton University 69–51. From the opening tip, UW were clearly the better team. Setting the tone defensively, controlling the paint and forcing Southampton into difficult shots. Coach Dean, decided to rotate players in quite quickly, so starters Wilfrid and Earl featureed very little. A balanced offensive effort kept the hosts in front throughout.

Seidina lead scoring for the second week with 14pts. Followed by KJ Steadman, who came off the bench for 12pts.

With the result, UW now advance to the quarter-finals, where they will face Bournemouth University in February in what promises to be a high-intensity matchup.
