Lucas started playing Wheelchair basketball at 8 years old.  At 16 he transitioned into coaching.  He started as an assistant for Oldham Owls.  After a few years, he got his first taste if international competition when he was Head Coach  at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games.  Leading our 3×3 Mens and 3×3 Women’s team to Bronze Medals.

After a successful Summer in 2022, Lucas moved to the German Bundesliga.  As Head Coach of Rhine River Rhinos, Lucas lead the team into the playoffs.  In addition to playoff competition for the club.  Lucas helped the club gin it’s first victory over league rivals RSV Lahn Dill

After his lone season in Germany.  Lucas moved back to the UK to join University of Worcester.  The opportunity to develop the next generation of GB Wheelchair players was one Lucas didn’t want to pass up.  In addition to being a part of the worlds only professional wheelchair basketball league for women, as Head Coach of the Worcester Wolves.

In his first year the University BUCS squad became national champions after a convincing victory vs Nottingham at the Big BUCS Final, with the Worcester Wolves securing third place in the league after a close fought playoffs vs Cardiff Met Archers
