Our Women’s programme, currently consists of one performance team and a recreational team, both of them competing in BUCS competitions and leagues. Additionally, most of our 1st team players also play for Worcester Wolves Women who play in WNBL 1.
The first team play in BUCS Midlands 1A with aspirations to be promoted back to the Women’s Premier Conference. “We’ve been out of the Women’s Premier for far too long.” says our Basketball Development Officer Dean Blake. Adding, “Coach Ryan and his team are working hard to win promotion, but so are the other teams, so it’s not an easy task, but it’s a challenge our team are up for.”
Our second team is fairly new, competing in their first season in 2018, finishing in second place in Midlands 3A to University of Wolverhampton Women’s 1. In their second season they again completed the season in second place, to Oxford Brookes Women’s 1. Whilst this is a recreational team, our girls are extremely competitive and hungry, so it’s only a matter of time before they earn themselves a promotion.
