Our women’s 2nd team returns for the 2025-26 season. Our women will take the court for the 1st time today in over 5 years. Their last game was against Aston University. A fixture they won 43-39, concluding their season (2019-20) in 2nd place, behind league winners Oxford Brookes.
This season, we will compete in Midlands 3a, alongside Oxford, Birmingham and Aston.
The first game today (Wednesday 29th October), we face University of Birmingham, 5pm tip.
Coaching the team this year will be Liliana Overcash from Oregon, who attended McDaniel College where she was a guard for 4 years and is here studying a Masters in International Management. Liliana said “I’m excited to be with the team. The team are a good group, who are all eager to learn. The goal is to win the league and we’re excited to get the season going.
Assisting Liliana is Stephanie Oliver. Stephanie is a second year student, who plays for our first team. To compliment her Sports Coaching degree, Steph gets involved with coaching Basketball during community sessions.
Steph said “We’re all excited for the season to start. The team really enjoy playing and have been working hard. Bring on Wednesday!!”
